Preserving the Vibrant Community of Bolinas and Stinson Beach

2025 IMPACT REPORT

Chris Harrington

August 23, 1943 - September 26, 2025

For the past eight years, the Bolinas Community Land Trust has had the privilege and honor of working closely with Chris Harrington, founder of the Stinson Beach Affordable Housing Committee (SBAHC), beloved community member and long-time resident of Stinson Beach.

Chris passed away on September 26th after a long battle with cancer. To honor Chris and his work, the BCLT has launched the Chris Harrington Fund. All proceeds will support Chris’ vision: the creation and preservation of affordable housing in Stinson Beach and Bolinas. Thank you to the anonymous donors who have made lead gifts in Chris’ honor. You can join them by designating your year-end gift to the BCLT “in honor of Chris Harrington.”

It’s more than a moment. It’s a movement.

As a member of the California Community Land Trust Network, BCLT is part of a collective spanning the state from Humboldt to San Diego County, stewarding over 1,700 permanently affordable homes and housing more than 3,500 Californians.

CACLT Network members actively combat the displacement of BIPOC and low-income families by keeping over $220 million in community assets off the speculative market and under community control. With 27 established groups across the state and many more emerging, Community Land Trusts are a growing force at a time when rising housing costs are pushing our neighbors out of their homes.
